A few days ago, I wrote an article on how to get NIN for Jamb Registration. I also pointed out some of the issues Jamb Candidates face that leads to failure. Today’s guide will cover hot 100 Questions Jambites Ask yearly and Best Answers for 2020.
The Questions in this guide include the Ones I have been asked directly by Jamb Candidates, Parents and the Ones answered by Jamb at Jamb Live Twitter Chat some time ago.

Question 1: Is it true that we must enrol for NIN before buying Jamb registration form for 2020?
Answer: This is one of the hottest Questions Jambites ask. Yes, the National Identification Number (NIN) is compulsory for every Jambite who wish to take Jamb 2020.
Just like the Jamb Profile was introduced and made compulsory a few years ago, NIN is compulsory for the upcoming Jamb.
Question 2: How long does it take to get NIN for Jamb and when is the best time to register?
Answer: You will get a slip containing your National Identification Number (NIN) the day you enrol or within one week of enrolment. However, it takes a very long time before you can get your National Identity card. The good news is that you do not need the National ID Card so long Jamb is concerned; you are good to go with the NIN Slip.
As for the best time to get it? You can register for NiN now. This is a Good Time to do so. In fact, the earlier you register, the faster you get your slip. Any moment from now, the queue will be very tight at NIN centres across Nigeria.
Question 3: I created my profile last year, do I need to create another one this year? As in can I use Jamb 2019 profile to register Jamb 2020.
Answer: No, you don’t need to create another account. You can use the 2019 Jamb profile to register Jamb 2020.
Question 4: Is it a must that we choose a private university as a compulsory option when filling our form during registration?
Answer: You do not have to choose a private uni as your choice. You can choose any school of your choice whether private, state or private University during Jamb 2020 Registration.
Question 5: I want to understand the issue of Awaiting results
Answer: Awaiting result means don’t have Waec or Neco at the point of Jamb registration. Awaiting Result candidates can apply for Jamb, but they must have gotten their results ready at the point of admission in the school and ensure to also upload it to Jamb portal immediately it is released.
Question 6: How will dis year exam and registration be like?
Answer: The exam will be Computer Based (CBT) and registration will be similar to what you already know. The steps are the creation of Jamb profile,buying Jamb e-pins at the bank and proceeding to any Jamb approved Centres to perfect your registration. Any change in the registration procedure will always be communicated.
Question 7: Can I write Jamb CBT when I’m not good at computer?
Answer: You do not need to be a computer guru to take UTME. Don’t spend weeks in computer school when you should be studying for Jamb. Jamb utilizes just 8 keys. It’s just for you to choose an option and then click next. It is very simple.
Question 8: Can I get Jamb UTME past Questions at the JAMB office?
Answer: You can visit any Jamb office for past questions.
Question 9: Is there an App to properly prepare for Jamb CBT
Answer: There are great android and desktop apps that will make it fun for you to prepare for Jamb. They are very rich in updated questions, very accurate answers and explanations.
Question 10: what if the awaiting result comes out before admission proceeds, would the candidate still gain admission. For awaiting results?
JAMB’s response: Then, you will be required to upload your result to our portal and then proceed for your screening.
Question 11: how do you intend to fix the problem of numerous amount of candidates seeking admission into the tertiary institution?
JAMB’s response: That is left for us to fix
Question 12: When will jamb result be ready and the exam be concluded because some schools need the result of jamb to start giving admission.
Answer: All institutions are aware of Jamb exam, so they will not put any candidate in a disadvantaged position. They will all wait for Jamb to be over and release results before admission begins.
Question 13: Good day please I needed to know if a candidate with awaiting result can reg for jamb 2020.
Answer: Yes please. JAMB has not cancelled Awaiting Result. Please read our tweets on this page for more clarification
Question 14: With this new Jamb policy, does it means I can choose more than one polytechnic?
JAMB’s response: Yes that is what it means.
Question 15: Will cyber cafes be allowed to register jamb in 2020?
Answer: cyber cafes will not be allowed to register candidates on behalf on JAMB
Question 16: is it true there’s not going to be Jamb next year
Answer: Please do not spread rumours. Jamb will hold next year as always.
Question 17: is it true one must take five subjects??
JAMB’s response: Five subject where? JAMB or SSCE?
Question 18: What are the number of subjects to register in Jamb?
Answer: The number of subjects to register in Jamb is 4. Nothing more and nothing less.
Question 19: What are the compulsory subjects in Jamb?
The Use of English is the only compulsory subject in Jamb. Other subjects are optional and they depend on the course you are going for.
Question 20: Are there compulsory Questions in Jamb?
Answer: There are no compulsory questions in Jamb. All questions are optional and you can skip any question to answer another one.
Questions 21: What if I don’t finish, will Jamb still release my result?
Answer: Whether you finish or not, jamb will definitely release your result. Just that you will not have marks for questions you skipped.
Question 22: Is there negative marking in Jamb?
Answer: Jamb hasn’t said anything about this, but I’m more than sure there is no negative marking in Jamb.
Negative marking means losing marks for questions you didn’t answer correctly. If there were negative markeing, it would have been very possible and easy for candidates to score zero.
Questions 23: Can someone score zero in Jamb?
Answer: It has never happened, and it will never happen in Jamb. No matter how dull you are, so long you sat for the exam, you can not score zero.
Question 24: can’t Jamb delay admission processes until both WAEC and NECO release their results?
JAMB’s response: JAMB does not have the powers to do that
Question 25: Please can I use my email address to create my profile
JAMB’s response: Yes you can
Question 26: Can I use someone’s email or phone number to create jamb profile?
Answer: It is highly not advisable. It is easy to create email and sim card is less than N500. Make sure to use your phone number and email.
Question 27: History and international studies can I use English, CRK govt and Econs during registration as my subject combination?
JAMB’s response: Please consult the JAMB Brochure to get the right subject combination for your course
Question 28: Since you said there will be no Offline. Are sure there would no network failure during the registration?
JAMB’s response: Trust that we have everything sorted. We are READY
Question 29: I heard something about a separate exam centre for the physically challenged. Shed some light on this what counts as disabled to you
JAMB’s response: Disabled in any form. Blind, etc
Question 30: Why do Jamb fail people?
Answer: Jamb doesn’t’ fail people and the exam is not very difficult to pass. You only fail when you refuse to prepare for the exam.
Question 31: How do I check jamb admission status for 2020?
Answer: Jamb admission status or admission list is checked on Jamb caps portal. You can then accept or reject your admission. You can also be admitted in a school you never applied for. It is called recommendation and this is found under Marketplace in Jamb Caps portal.
Questions 32: What novel is Jamb using for utme 2020?
Answer: It is very likely to be sweet sixteen.

Answer: This opinion is personal → Without Wasting much time, the hardest subjects to pass in Waec and Jamb are A.English Language, B. Literature, Physics, Biology and C. Subject(s) you don’t like.

Questions 38: What are the things prohibited in Jamb Centre?
Answer: To fight malpractice, the Joint Admission and Matriculation Board (JAMB) has banned and warned candidates from coming to centres with the following Items:

Answer: Enter your Surname, First Name& Middle Name. Then send the text message to 55019.
Questions 40: Can SS1 and SS2 Student sit for Jamb.

Questions 42: Some persons complain that they uploaded o level but it is not appearing in Jamb profile. Awaiting result still appears.
Answer: It is normal. It doesn’t mean your result wasn’t uploaded successfully.
Questions 43: How long does it take for the school or course you change to reflect
Answer: Some days.
Questions 44: Are direct entry candidates required to buy Jamb form?
Answer: Yes, all direct entry candidates must buy the Jamb direct entry form. Jamb direct entry form is released alongside Jamb utme form.
Questions 45: How do I know my exam date and venue
Answer: After registration, Jamb will announce a general date when all candidates will be required to go back to Jamb portal to reprint their exam slip for Jamb date, time and venue.

Answer: Yes, more than recommended. Always study alongside jamb past questions and Jamb syllabus.

Answer: School plays a major role in offering admission. Giving admission is more of school. Jamb checks the names on the admission list, validates them, updates them in Jamb caps portal and offers admission letter.
Question 58: Is it possible to ignore private university among my choice?
JAMB’s response: Yes!! you do not have to choose a private University as your choice
Question 59: Does that means cyber will not involve in terms for registration?
JAMB’s response: Yes please
Question 60: Please Jamb should let all the UTME candidates those courses that are not accredited in all the institutions to avoid problems
JAMB’s response: During the registration, you will see all accredited courses for each Institution
Question 61: can someone withdraw poly admission from the jamb portal, I don’t know if I have been admitted in my university of choice
JAMB’s response: Please log in to your profile and check your admission status
Question 62: Where are the accredited centres located?
JAMB’s response: We have over 500 centres in Nigeria alone. This year we will be having more centres
Question 63: Those exam centres with bad computer systems, poor electricity supply, how are the students complain handled if such happen again?
JAMB’s response: Such centres will never be used by JAMB again. Do not fret
Question 64: Does jamb release results within 24 hours since it is Computer-based?
Answer: Immediately you click on submit, jamb sees and records your results. For many reasons, Jamb waits for a conducive time to release the results.
Question 65: What are the possible reasons Jamb might delay the release of 2020 results?
Answer: Cross-checking the results with CCTV Cameras to curb malpractice, some candidates can break the computer screen if the result is displayed immediately and to monitor the general performance.
Question 66: Please explain what the profile we are to create is about
JAMB’s response: We want you to create a personal profile. So that you can visit the site and see all your dealings with JAMB.
Question 67: What are the things I can do with Jamb profile apart from registration.
Answer: There are many other things you can do with your Jamb profile for 2020. They include checking admission status, applying for Jamb change of institution, correction of date of birth, correction of age, printing admission letter and so on.
Question 68: Creating an account? is it before or during the registration period??
JAMB’s response: You can create your account now before the registration commences
Question 69: can awaiting be used as it was before? and why should it be uploaded when reg commences

Question 70: Can I open my profile on the official website now?
JAMB’s response: Please create a profile on our portal
Question 71: Please can I choose NDA as a choice in Jamb?
JAMB’s response: Yes you can
Question 72: Not all the regularisation students’ form are treated, any reason for that pls?
JAMB’s response: We treat all regularization cases. We either approve or disapprove. We give reasons
Question 73: Do all accredited Jamb centres across Nigeria have installed CCTV Cameras in curbing exam malpractice.
JAMB’s response: Yes!!! All JAMB Centres have CCTV Installed and it’s being monitored.
Question 74: What measures have u taken to address the computer problem that reduces candidates scores or performance?
JAMB’s response: We are well prepared. Take that from us
Question 75: will private universities reduce their school fees since jamb is forcing candidates to put them as second choice.
JAMB’s response: JAMB is not forcing candidates to go to private institutions. YOU DO NOT HAVE TO CHOOSE A PRIVATE UNIVERSITY in your choices
Question 76: Is first and second choice institution still available for degree?
JAMB’s response: 1st and 2nd Choices don’t necessarily have to be Universities. It can be NCE or Polytechnic
Question 77: How many universities can we choose??
JAMB’s response: U do not have to choose any University.There are Poly, NCE or IEI. If u av to choose Uni, it can only be 1 Public and 1 Private
Question 78: How can I get the e-brochure
JAMB’s response: You will get this once registration begins. Upon purchase of the form
Question 79: My question is that can I choose engineering course in funaab
JAMB’s response: Please visit the brochure to see if the school offers Engineering.
Question 80: Can I study any course at any University or polytechnic?
Answer: You can study any course of your choice at any University so long the school offers the course and you have the right subject combination.
Questions 81: What are the subjects I need to study engineering, Medicine and Law?
Answer: The subject combination for engineering is Mathematics, Use of English, Chemistry and Physics. The subject combination for medicine and surgery is Biology, Use of English, Chemistry and Physics.
The subject combination for Law is Use of English, Government, CRS and Literature in English.
Question 82: Is it necessary for Jamb to allow applicants to choose their first and second choices for public universities…
JAMB’s response: No please
Question 83: For how many weeks will utme 2020 registration last?
Answer: Jamb registration usually last two to three months. Some times, the registration deadline is extended so that more candidates can register.
Question 84: Is it true that Jamb 2020 result will be valid for three years?
Answer: There was a bill for jamb validity to be extended to three years. However, it didn’t see the light of the day. Jamb 2020 will last for one year. Trust me, you will know if anything changes.
Question 85: Will updated list of accredited cafes be released before reg. commences? so many cafes are claiming to be accredited.
Answer: Jamb will release an updated official list of accredited centres in all the 36 states and FCT immediately registration is announced. Take note that jamb has no business with cyber cafes
Questions 86: What are the list of jamb accredited centres as at today?
Answer: Jamb has added more centres and they are still updating the list of centres.
Question 87: If the sales of Jamb form starts now, when will it end How many weeks duration
JAMB’s response: When registration commences, we will let you know the duration
Question 88: Some accredited centres are too far from the students reach, what are you doing to cub this. Some travel miles b4 they can register
JAMB’s response: Our accredited centres have increased, and we have enough for all the states
Question 89: Are we buying the form #2500 as said by the senate or the usual price?
JAMB’s response: We will (always) inform you of that before registration commences.
Question 90: Can we choose state University as second choice in Jamb.
JAMB’s response: Yes you can
Questions 91: What can I do at Cyber Cafes so long Jamb is concerned?
Answer: It is true that you can not register Jamb or upload awaiting results at the cyber cafe. However, you can check and print your Jamb result, do Jamb change of course and institution, pay and print your Original result slip, check and print your admission status at Cyber Cafes.
Question 92: Where will registrations be carried out?
JAMB’s response: at JAMB Accredited CBT Centres. Not cyber cafes
Question 93: Those Of Us That Have Created The E-profile, How Are We Going To GET the Unique Code Or We’re To Create New Profile?
JAMB’s response: If you have created your profiles, you do not need the code any more
Question 94: The Jamb caps portal is showing a single admission status whereas one might be admitted in different schools why?
JAMB’s response: There is no way you can be admitted to two different schools. Either Degree, ND, NCE or IEI
Question 95: has the Jamb syllabus change or it stills remain the same
JAMB’s response: You will get your syllabus when the registration commences
Question 96: How long does Jamb syllabus last?
Answer: Jamb has not specified how long syllabus last before it expires. But from what I have seen over the years, Jamb syllabus takes time before it changes.
Apart from the Use of English and Literature where new novels are introduced every two to three years, other things remain almost the same for more than five years in Jamb syllabus. You can use any Jamb syllabus available with you right now to prepare for jamb and you will not have any issue.
Question 97: since the exam will be computer-based what if someone who doesn’t have D knowledge of computer, how can D person cope wit computer-based
JAMB’s response: You will only need the Mouse and Keyboard. Arrow keys, A, B,C, D Keys. That is all you need to write our exam
Question 98: Can I use my last year jamb apply for dis year admission?
JAMB’s response: No you can’t
Question 99: How can someone Register as an accredited registration centre?
JAMB’s response: Visit any of our state offices. OR see the guidelines on (link: http://www.jamb.gov.ng) jamb.gov.ng
Question 100: Can I change my profile’s password?
JAMB’s response: Yes you can
