As the JAMB 2024 UTME registration progresses to Week 4, JAMB has disclosed that about 1,072,122 candidates have so far been registered. This was contained in the weekly bulletin of the board. Prospective candidates are advised to ensure they register or complete their registration before the deadline as there may not be any extension.
Meanwhile, the Ag. Director, Ibadan Zonal Office of JAMB, Mr. Olugbenga Akintola, while embarked on a tour of CBT centres in Ibadan to monitor the ongoing 2024 registration exercise reminded both candidates and the various CBT centres on the importance of full compliance with the directives of the Board, particularly with respect to ensuring that candidates are duly authenticated individually through their profile codes and ePINs as received on their mobile phones before registering them in order to guard against group registrations and mismatch of candidates’ data.
It would be recalled that the Board had mandated all prospective candidates for the 2024 UTME to display their profile codes and e-PINs as vended from the Board’s USSD code 55019 or 66019 on the mobile phones with which they had generated their profile codes. In the past, some schools, perhaps, out of ignorance or carelessness or through a combination of both, had muddled up candidates’ vital information such as names, date of birth, state/local government of origin, among others. In many instances, such candidates had to bear the burden of filing applications for correction of data, which in many instances, are not granted.
