Applications are now open and the university warmly invites candidates, who possess the requisite qualifications, to apply for either Full-Time or Part-Time admissions into its diverse postgraduate programmes for the 2023/2024 academic year.

KASU Postgraduate Admission Requirements

POSTGRADUATE DIPLOMA

Candidates Must Possess:

• Five credit passes including English Language and Mathematics at O-Level in a maximum of two sittings.
• Relevant Bachelor’s degree from a recognised University not lower than third class.
• Bachelor’s Degree with at least Second Class (Lower Division) in a non-related area may be considered.
• Higher National Diploma (HND) with a minimum of Lower Credit in the related field of study from a recognised institution.
• Candidates with a Pass in Bachelor’s Degree, Higher National Diploma or equivalent should be considered for admission.

PROFESSIONAL MASTER’S PROGRAMMES

Candidates Must Possess:

• Five credit passes including English Language and Mathematics at O-Level in a maximum of two sittings.
• First Degree from Kaduna State University or any other recognised University in the relevant field with a minimum of Second Class (Lower Division), or
• A candidate with a Third Class Degree or HND and Postgraduate Diploma from Kaduna State University or any recognised institution with a CGPA of 3.0.

ACADEMIC MASTER’S PROGRAMMES

Candidates Must Possess:

• Five credit passes including English Language and Mathematics at O-Level in a maximum of two sittings.
• First Degree from Kaduna State University or any other recognised University in the relevant field with a minimum CGPA of 3.0 in the related field.

MPhil/PhD PROGRAMMES

Candidates Must Possess:

• Five credit passes including English Language and Mathematics at O-Level in a maximum of two sittings.
• First Degree from Kaduna State University or any other recognised University in the relevant field with a minimum of Second Class (Lower Division), and
• An Academic Master’s Degree of Kaduna State University or any recognised institution with a CGPA below the requirements for PhD programme.

DOCTORATE DEGREE PROGRAMMES

Candidates Must Possess:

• Five credit passes including English Language and Mathematics at O-Level in a maximum of two sittings.
• First Degree from Kaduna State University or any other recognised University in the relevant field with a minimum of Second Class (Lower Division), and
• An Academic Master’s Degree of Kaduna State University or any recognised institution with a CGPA of 4.0 in the same Sciences areas of the required PhD programme.
• Each applicant is required to prepare a tentative research proposal of 500 words and two topics to be uploaded at the time of application.

Application Process for KASU Postgraduate Admission

Prospective applicants are required to pay an application processing fee. The fee is set at:

• N10,000 for Nigerian candidates
• $20 for Non-Nigerian candidates.

1. Begin by visiting the official Kaduna State University Portal at KASU Application Portal.
2. Navigate and click on the ‘School of Postgraduate Studies’ button.
3. Initiate your application process by creating a unique profile. Upon successful creation, a username and password will be forwarded to your registered email.
4. With your profile details at hand, log in to continue your registration.
5. Diligently fill out the provided application form.

Note: The university stresses the importance of providing accurate information, highlighting that it will not engage in correspondence regarding its decisions with any applicant. Successful candidates, granted provisional admission, are mandated to produce academic record transcripts and original qualification documents during the registration process.

Important Dates and Notices

The deadline for submission of the application form is November 30, 2023. Prospective students are encouraged to expedite the submission of their Academic Record Transcripts to the Secretary, School of Postgraduate Studies, Kaduna State University, Kaduna.

• Admission offers, regardless of meeting the stated conditions, remain provisional. The School of Postgraduate Studies retains full rights concerning admission offers, including confirmation or denial.
