    Washing your face with salt water may sound absurd, but it actually has amazing skin-benefiting effects. Here are some of the essential benefits of using salt water for skincare:

    1. Eliminates acne: Salt water naturally absorbs bacteria on the skin and draws out pore clogging oil and toxins, reducing breakouts and giving you radiant skin.
    1. Treats skin conditions: Regularly washing your skin with salt water can eliminate skin disorders like eczema, psoriasis, and extreme dryness. Sea salt contains healing minerals like potassium, calcium, and magnesium, which help in detoxifying the skin and improving its condition.
    2. Acts as a facial toner: Salt water tightens pores, removes excess oil, and leaves the skin feeling smooth and renewed. Use a salt water mixture as a face toner after washing your face to keep your skin oil free all day.
    3. Works as a rejuvenating scrub: Using salt water in your skincare regimen promotes skin cell renewal and leaves the skin softer and smoother.

    To make a salt water solution, you will need four cups of distilled or boiling water (boiled for at least 20 minutes), two tablespoons of non-iodized salt, an airtight storage container, and a mixing tool. Combine one cup of water with half a teaspoon of salt to make a small batch. Properly wash your hands and sterilize your tools before using. Allow the mixture to cool down before applying.

    There are two ways to use salt water for skincare:

    As a facial toner: Mix one teaspoon of sea salt with four cups of warm water in a spray bottle. Spray sparingly around the eyes and on clean, dry skin twice daily.

    As a body scrub: Create a thick mixture with 1/2 cup of olive or coconut oil and 1/4 cup of salt. Add 10 drops of any essential oil if desired. Use this scrub in the shower by gently massaging your skin in circular strokes.

    – As a relaxing salt bath: Add one-third cup of salt to a warm bath and swish the water around to help the salt dissolve. Soak for 15 to 30 minutes to deeply cleanse pores and moisturize the skin.

    By incorporating salt water into your skincare routine, you can enjoy the rejuvenating benefits it offers for your skin, hair, and nails.
